Photo: Vancouver International Airport Health officials are alerting the public of potential exposure to measles after a contagious person flew from Vancouver to Edmonton Public Health Agency of Canada notified Alberta Health Services that a person with lab-confirmed measles in Edmonton International Airport from Vancouver International Airport and stayed in Leduc while infectious. The individual flew from Vancouver to Edmonton on Feb. 12 on Air Canada Flight AC236 at 10:25 am.m. and arrived at 12:54 pm They then went to numerous public places on an airport hotel shuttle that stopped at four hotels. Health officials are warning anyone who visited the following locations that they may have been exposed to: Feb. 12, between 2:30 pm – 3:30 pm Paradise Inn and Suites – 7118 Sparrow Dr., Leduc Crystal Star Inn – 8334 Sparrow Crescent, Leduc Wyndham Garden Edmonton Airport – 8016 Sparrow Dr., Leduc Wingate by Wyndham – 7120 Sparrow Dr., Leduc Feb. 12, 5 p.m. – 7 pm Walmart Supercentre – 5302 Discovery Way, Leduc Feb. 13, 6:30 am.m. – 7 am Edmonton International Airport Hotel Shuttle, Crystal Star Inn – 8334 Sparrow Crescent, Leduc Feb. 12 at 3 p.m. to Feb. 13 at 6:30 am Stars Inn Hotel – 8332 Sparrow Crescent, Leduc The person then left on Feb. 13 from Edmonton International Airport at 7:45 am on Canadian North Flight 5T-444 to Inuvik, NWT Individuals who were in the locations, were born after 1970 and had not already had two doses of measles vaccine. Health officials are alerting the public of potential exposure to measles after a contagious person flew from Vancouver to Edmonton

Public Health Agency of Canada notified Alberta Health Services that a person with lab-confirmed measles in Edmonton International Airport from Vancouver International Airport and stayed in Leduc while infectious.

The individual flew from Vancouver to Edmonton on Feb. 12 on Air Canada Flight AC236 at 10:25 am.m. and arrived at 12:54 pm

They then went to numerous public places on an airport hotel shuttle that stopped at four hotels.

The person then left on Feb. 13 from Edmonton International Airport at 7:45 am on Canadian North Flight 5T-444 to Inuvik, NWT

Individuals who were in the locations, were born after 1970 and had not already had two doses of measles vaccine.

People are encouraged to monitor symptoms for 21 days after the date of potential exposure, which could be up to March 5, 2019.

If symptoms of measles do develop, people are advised to stay home and call Health Link at 811, before visiting any health care facility or provider.
