Supercell, the company responsible for the successful Clash Royale , wants to launch into the world of leagues. And what better way to consolidate the success of his main title in the world of e-sports, than creating Clash Royale League.
In this league there will be 36 teams Y a total of 4 regions among which are two Asian regions (one for China only), one North American and one European. Clash Royale League comes betting very strong, and is that its creators have announced that there will be more than 1 million dollars in prizes , an incentive more than enough for this league to be a success.
The people of Supercell are not new to this field, and they have already held other tournaments before, the most important being the Clash Royale Crown Championship (CRCC), whose final took place in London, with more than 27 million players and having as winner the Mexican Sergio Ramos (no, it has nothing to do with the Real Madrid player), which pocketed a total of 150,000 Dollars.
Now the thing changes a lot, and that is The competition will be held by teams of between 4 and 6 players, for what Supercell organized last March the “Clash Royale League Challenge”, where the candidates had to win the best players in the world, in addition to meet other requirements such as a minimum age, maturity or the ability to travel among others.
Total, 6700 players have passed the filter , but that does not mean that they all become part of a team, but rather that they will make up a sort of “bag” from which teams can shoot to choose new members or make substitutions. Each region of the 4 mentioned will have a total of 8 teams, and, as is logical, the most powerful E-Sports organizations have already signed up.
The North America region will include among its ranks a Cloud9 Esports, Team SoloMid, TribeGaming, Immortals, NRG, Complexity, 100 Thieves and Counter Logic Gaming , while in Europe we can see in action a FNATIC, Misfits, Team Liquid, G2 Esports, Team Cheese, SK Gaming, Team Dignitas and Allegiance . These two regions the faces will be seen in August, while the two Asian regions already started at the end of last March.
The final of the Clash Royale League the next winter , and everything indicates that it will be an audience success.
For now it has not been clarified if the European and North American regions will follow the same pattern used for the two Asian regions, but if so, this would be the development scheme of the competitions, which we have already seen in the inaugural phase that has faced to China with the rest of Asian territories:
As can be seen, this dynamic promises to be very entertaining and lead to very exciting games with unexpected endings, but it remains to be seen if South and Central America will join the Clash Royale League.
There is still time for teams to choose the best candidates, but one thing is clear, electronic sports are here to stay.
