The officer’s injury was life-threatening and he was in “good spirits”, CPD Supt. Eddie Johnson said late on Saturday. He was in critical but stable condition at Stroger Hospital.
A woman who was the subject of the search order was arrested in the shooter. She seemed to be kicking through a back door as an officer trying to enter.

The incident occurred at about 7 pm in the 2700 block of West Potomac Avenue while the officer is performing a search order. The provision was for drugs and illegal weapons.
The woman arrested was “known to police,” Johnson said.
No shots shot by the police.
The officer was from the 25th district’s tactical unit. He worked for CPD for 4.5 years and previously had eight years in the Marine Corps.
