Every year during the Queen’s birthday celebrations at Trooping the Colour parade, the monarch releases her annual Birthday Honours list. Making this year’s 1,057 people to receive accolades for their services in various industries and charities is Charlotte Tilbury. The go-to makeup artist for Amal Clooney and Gigi Hadid, Tilbury was awarded the Members of the Order of the British Empire MBE for her services to the beauty and cosmetics industry. With over two decades as a makeup artist and a successful cult beauty line under her belt, the queen of glam took to Instagram to show her gratitude.
“I feel incredibly honoured and very proud to receive an MBE in this year’s Queen’s Birthday Honours List,” Tilbury said in a statement on her website. “To be recognised for my services to the beauty industry as both a makeup artist and entrepreneur is an amazing personal accolade which means so much to me. I have been fortunate enough to work at the forefront of the beauty industry for over two decades which has allowed me to share my vision with the world, changing the way women, from 18-80, perceive themselves through the use of makeup. I have always been passionate about empowering women and helping them to feel confident and the most beautiful versions of themselves through the power of beauty, it inspired my philosophy ‘Give a woman the right makeup and she can conquer the world! There are so many people I want to express my thanks and gratitude towards. From my wonderful industry peers who have supported me throughout my 25+ year career and who I have built such close relationships with, to my incredible team of limitless thinkers who helped me to create and continue to push the boundaries with my award-winning brand and of course my amazing family, who I couldn’t have done any of this without. I always say it takes a team to build a dream, and this is a dream come true for me.”
