Dan Weinberg said that WNBA was exactly what CBS was looking for to strengthen its schedule.

“We’re looking for partners with established brands that grow with dedicated fan bases,” he said in a telephone interview. “WNBA controls all of these boxes. (Plays in) Spring Summer leans on our programming schedule. We speak clearly and clearly about the best basketball players in the world at the highest level. Associate ourselves with WNBA, it is a very powerful established brand with nationwide popularity . “

The pages still discuss expanding coverage to include features and other WNBA programming.

“It will be beyond the highlights” David Denenberg, Senior Vice President, Global Media Distribution and Business Affairs for NBA Entertainment. “Whether it’s functions we develop or CBS we want to do more.”

It is unclear how WNBA will decide which games will fly on ESPN or CBS forward after this year. The league didn’t seem so worried.

“It is enough that we have enough games that we think we will put together a robust schedule for everyone,” says Denenberg. “We will announce the CBS schedule, ESPN schedule. I think we will work well for all our partners.”
