Black Ops 4 s Blackout is a great match royal experience, but even the best game can be done better with the correct updates. Treyarch’s design director David Vonderhaar has recently said that more changes are coming to Blackout.

Since launch, we have seen stability updates and minor changes to improve Blackout’s overall quality. For example, an update allowed you to press instead of holding the item download button for faster robbery. It may seem like a small change, but it is quite important when every second counts.

The battle for a Blackout victory can often feel like a very sniper or attack-dominated experience, especially near the end of the match. But there has been a lot of weapon balancing in order to make other weapons more attractive to use. For example, the whole class of submachine pistols got a decent buff. The ball speed was increased to make them more effective in long-distance matches. Additionally, all lightweight machine turns were set to have less recoil, so you may feel that you have more options to secure that win.

The 9-Bang tactic was completely removed from Blackout to be an excessive object. The use of brainwashing equipment would leave you mostly blinded with just the dumb animation of the character’s hand in front of the face as if they were not trained professionals. It was quite easy to connect a victory if you had a gear, and while I have credited some Blackout wins to use 9-Bang, I’m not so sad to see it gone. If the tactical equipment returns in the future, I would hope that it would be limited to a rare find in one of the airdrop boxes. It makes the players too vulnerable to being so common.

All Blackout character lockups have finally been added and their character-specific mission items now have a higher drop rate. Assignments prevent me from getting into hot places and I really enjoy the extra challenges with my quest to unlock all the characters.

In my opinion, Blackout is the best game for players who want a less cartoon experience than Fortnite but there are areas where the situation can still be improved. Treyarch has been really good at bringing updates to Black Ops 4 but what’s next for Blackout? Here’s what I would like to see.

Faster download of items is good, but navigating and arranging your Blackout layer is still a pain. When I drop into a hotspot like Firing Range or Nuketown, I get first and foremost anything nearby. The first volatile moments are not time to be picky. I get hold of, go and look to clear away some nearby enemies. During this time I have accumulated benefits, I may not want anymore or weapons that I want to change, while I still hold most of my arms connections. My stash of loot looks like chaos, and I have random bandages in several bins. I can keep track of my gear better if all of my things are organized, but it takes too long. I am often a caboose in my four-player group, who is behind because I have taken a long time to sort my inventory. An automatic sorting feature can make Blackouts less stress if all of my items could be stacked and sorted by product type.

Ammo does not pick up any of our valuable storage space, but it would save time during our chaotic robbery adventure if there was an auto-pickup ammo feature as in Fortnite . There is a limit to how much ammunition you can hold, so fast pickup should not have a negative impact on the game’s flow. You would still not be able to run around the entire Rivertown ammunition supply to prevent your opponents.

It would also be nice if we could have two primary weapons and a secondary place for a starter or knife. Sometimes someone in my group is so lucky to take a chopper, they will equip the Hellion Salvo launch, but it’s rare for someone to launch a rocket launcher instead of a second primary.

Blackout looks and feels good to play, but there are some noise issues that can lead to an incredible death. The sound of footprints and vehicles can still feel a little distance in the direction and distance. Even with a good headset, you might think the enemy is reading you on an ATV off, but they can actually be just behind you. Suddenly you are roadkill.

David Vonderhaar has recently tweeted that plans are being made for future audio enhancements hoping that future enemy footprints and vehicles will sound more accurate as they approach. [19659003] Before the launch, Treyarch tested that Blackout would have a developing map. Vonderhaar tweeted that map changes happen and that he played them, but no specific data or date existed. Here we hope to get more restoration sites like Hazard from Black Ops 1 or Standoff from Black Ops 2 .

In addition to Fortnite I also hope that we will see more in-game challenges within Blackout. I’ve had a lot of fun highlighting the hidden Dark Ops challenges, and the character shin unlocks, but eventually I’ll run out of further missions. Nothing needs to be an epic game style with fun of balloons or ghosts, but I want daily challenges to win or to get the X-number of kills to earn extra merits, skins or cheats. I would love the opportunity to earn some special Blackout cameras.

Finally, Vonderhaar tweeted good news for my smallest request for Blackout. I want to use my beautiful and hard-earned multiplayer and Zombies camos in Battle Royale. Blackout quickly became my favorite match royal options because I love the nostalgic map, smooth gameplay and Call of Duty style action without any nasty fortress building. But I think Blackout will have to stay fresh and continue to develop to keep much of the player base coming back for more.
