Yes, I did an emoji in the headline because a brown Cadillac warrants that. As a loving send-off to the third generation of its V-Series performance models, Cadillac will build 300 special Pedestal Edition models of the 2019 ATS-V and CTS-V. The paint is not called brown, it’s called “Bronze Sand Metallic” but it sure looks brown to me.
In addition to the special paint job, the coupe and the sedan will get black chrome accents, forged wheels, red brake calipers and two-tone interiors. No performance upgrades were listed, so this looks like an appearance edition only.
Cadillac says that the Pedestal Edition is meant to celebrate 15 years of the Cadillac V-Series subbrand, which started in 2004 with the very first CTS-V since. Arguably, that’s the car that put Cadillac on the performance radar and gave the Germans something to worry about.
Only 300 of the special editions will be built and will be sold in the U.S., Canada and the Middle East. Order will commence during the first week of November. Pricing for the 2019 ATS-V Coupe Pedestal Edition starts at $ 77,090, and $ 102,590 for the 2019 CTS-V Pedestal Edition, which is about $ 10,000 to $ 15,000 more expensive than they normally are.
Cadillac will not kill off the ATS-V or the CTS-V for the next generation of V, but it will be expanding the lineup. We can expect the CT6-V, which will have Cadillac’s all-new hot-vee engine. More Vs are a good thing, especially if they are brown.
