BTS makes history as “Map of Soul: Persona” Debuts at No. 1 on Billboard 200

On April 21 local time, Billboard announced that BTS 'new mini-album "Map of the Soul: Persona" had debuted at No. 1 on its famous Top 200 Albums chart, the weekly ranking of the most popular albums in the United States. "Map of the Soul: Persona" is now the third BTS album to enter the chart at no. 1, making the BTS the first Korean artist to ever top the Billboard 200 with three different albums – and it took them less than a year to achieve the performance. Earlier this week, “Map of the Soul: Persona” set a new record by becoming the first album to ever surpass 2 million sales using the Hanteo Chart calculations. In addition to top many iTunes maps worldwide, the mini-album also debuted at No. 1 on the UK’s official album, marking the first time a Korean artist has ever topped the chart.
