Yorgos Lanthimos famous comedy drama Favorite won ten awards at the British Independent Film Awards (BIFA) in London tonight.

The film won the best British independent film, Best Director and Best Manus sponsored by BBC Films. Olivia Colman kept her perfect record to win at BIFA every time she was nominated and took home her fourth BIFA trophy.

Her performance as Queen Anne was awarded the best actress. Her co-star Rachel Weisz was named the best supporting actress; Weisz won at BIFA for The Constant Gardener 2005. The five awards of the night took the favor to ten, adding the five craft awards announced earlier in the month of Best Casting, Best Cinematography, Best Costume Design, Best Make Up & amp; Hair design and best production design.

The Fox Searchlight fee rolls into the award period at a high that has garnered calls from the Venice Film Festival. Seen in the 1

Turner Award-Winning Artist Richard Billingham Received Douglas Hickox Award for Best Debut Director for Ray & amp; Liz . The film producer Jacqui Davies won the award for Breakthrough Producer.

Beast Star Jessie Buckley was named most promising newcomer. You never got right here won two BIFAs – for best music and best sound. Evelyn is Best Documentary.

Discovery Award went to Voyageuse by May Miles Thomas. The best British short film prize was presented to The Big Day. The only category of night that was open to non-British movies was Best International Independent Film won by Rome .

The special animal price was presented to Horace Ové CBE. Judi Dench was presented with the 2018 Richard Harris Award for outstanding contributions from an actor to British Film. Early Man .
