October is the Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and there are a number of events happening in our area, including a Real Men Wear Pink 5K Walk / Run. The event is a 3.1 mil course at Princeton City Park. It will be held on Saturday 27 October. On-site registration is 7:30 on 27 October. The race begins at 08:00. Dr. David Mullins is the American Cancer Society’s Real Men Wear Pink representative for South West Virginia and he says the money is important to help with breast cancer research.
“Breast cancer is by far the most common malignancy that will affect women in addition to skin cancer exclusion. There will be over 1700 women diagnosed with breast cancer in the state of West Virginia. Almost 200 of them will cure the disease so we want to raise awareness and do everything we can do to try to work
against cure, says Dr. Mullins.
The registration fee is $ 20. You can download a printable registration form here or register online here. For more information contact Sommer Mullins at 304-952 -8373.
