COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Blue Jackets has acquired center Matt Duchene in a trade with the Ottawa Senators on Friday, landing one of the best players available at the NHL’s trading deadline and filling a sizeable hole on its roster.
Details of the trade have not been completed, but it is believed that prospects Vitaly Abramov and Jonathan Davidsson are sent to the senators as part of the trade. There may be more from Blue Jackets, including at least one first round. The Blue Jackets also bought minor-league defense men Julius Bergman.
