The release date and time has been announced for Operation Absolute Zero, the next major content of Call of Duty: Black Ops 4.
According to an in-game message screen, Operation Absolute Zero will start on Tuesday, December 11th 10:00 PT / 1 PM PT on PlayStation 4.
As usual, PS4 will download this content one week earlier than Xbox One and PC platforms, according to the exclusive agreement Sony has with Activision.
According to the announcement, Operation Absolute Zero will bring a new specialist, update to Blackout’s map and new weapons to Black Ops 4.
This will be the first time new weapons will be introduced to the game since launch on October 1
2, as Daemon 3XB SMG, SWAT RFT Assault Rifle and Secret Santa Melee weapons will all be available via Contraband tiers on the Multiplayer Black Market.
These weapons will come above new weapon camera, reactive camera, reticles and other holiday season items that will be added in the next few days.
The brand new specialist will be named Zero, which is a “versatile and deadly hacker available in both multiplayer and blackout.” In multiplayer, Zero can disturb and distract enemies by using “powerful hacking tools,” which may contain an EMP.
Players will be able to unlock the new Specialist by completing Level 1 on the black market, which will be rebuilt with the launch of absolutely zero.
As for Blackout, a whole lot of new content will be added to the popular form Royal Mode, including the iconic Hijacked map from Black Ops 2, the new ARAV armored vehicle, Zero Specialist and a whole new set of Blackout Zombies character assignments.
The launch of Operation Absolute Zero also means that the end of Operation First Strike is close and Treyarch has confirmed it will end on December 11.
This gives players a maximum of four days left to try to level up their content stream as much as possible and with First Strike having 200 total levels, it is likely that many will miss the top length.
