Netflix may have released the cat out of the bag too soon and reveal Black Mirror Season 5 Release Date. One of the many Netflix accounts tweeded a picture of sci-fi and fantasy titles to look forward to in December – and at the end of the list there was none other than Black Mirror Netflix’s sci-fi series as Playing like a Twilight Zone for a digital world. The tweet was erased almost immediately, but the internet saves everything, and a screenshot has made the rounds. If that is correct, we will return to the world of Black Mirror at the end of the month.
@NXOnNetflix, Netflix Twitter account dedicated to “all super, sci-fi, amazing, and beyond,” released the following image just before Thanksgiving:
The image contains a list of all the amazing things You can watch streaming service this month, and as you can see the bottom, the title Black Mirror: Bandersnatch is listed as prize December 28th . The image was deleted quickly, but the fact that this came from a verified Netflix account means more or less that it’s true. We reached Netflix for comments, and they replied that they did not comment on the matter. In other words, is probably true.
The interesting is here, unlike previous Black Mirror seasons, this has a subtitle: Bandersnatch . This suggests that only one section, not the entire season, could release that date. Perhaps the other episodes will roll out gradually? In April, we learned that the title Bandersnatch was used during the film of a new Black Mirror episode. The episode took the series back to the 1980s, much like the amazing episode San Junipero . But what does that mean? The word Bandersnatch comes from Lewis Carroll’s 1872 novel through Look-Glass and refers to a creature “with long throats and snaping jaws, and both of them describe it as wild and extremely fast.”
In November, a Twitter user pointed out that it was a never-ending British video game called Bandersnatch back in the 1980s:
The same user pointed out that Bandersnatch was referenced all the way back in season 3.
Bandersnatch was originally intended for release on 8-bit ZX Spectrum home computer and would have set a new prize for computer games ($ 39.95) vs standard prices for the time between £ 5.95 and £ 11.95). It was thought that the game would have required a cartridge or dongle to support the game’s requirements.
But before any of the Megagames had been completed, Imagine Software went bankrupt because of financial maladministration.
About Black Mirror: Bandersnatch focuses on some kind of game, it might well be your own adventure game that was hit back in October. Per one report:
Seare will be able to choose their own storylines in a episode of the upcoming season of “Black Mirror”, the Emmy-winning science fiction anthology series. The exhibition is known for exploring the social impact of technology, including a section where people jockey receive higher grades from their peers. The fifth season of the show is expected to be released in December.
It’s all that adds, and I’m sure we’ll know more soon.
