Beverley Mitchell hopes her story helps others.
The last 7th Heaven star revealed in a heartbreaking blog post on Thursday that she was battling twins earlier this year.
Mitchell, 37, who is already a mother of 5-year-old daughter Kenzie and 3-year-old son Hutton with husband Michael Cameron, wrote that it was “happy” to learn that she was pregnant with twins. But just a few weeks later, “came our new dream of our growing family down” when she discovered that she had failed.
“Honestly, my first instinct was to say I was good and to be honest, I tried to be. I thought I had to be for my family to myself … Although it was sensible in my head , my heart could not make sense, “she wrote. “I never thought I would fail to have two healthy pregnancies already. This was my misconception, I do not understand much about miscarriage and I did not know many people who had failed or I thought.”
Mitchell said that months later, she begins to heal thanks to her husband. “Today, I celebrate my gratitude to Michael to be my rock, my best friend, my soul mate, everything,” she shared. “I’m extremely grateful to my husband by a man who was patient while I worked through the feelings of gay [sic]”.
“If we are blessed with more children, they will fill us with more love, but for now, I’m watching my family and I’m GREAT, SELL AND TRUE,” she added.
Star Hollywood Darlings finished his post by encouraging other women to be more vocal about experiencing a loss. “No one should suffer in silence,” she wrote. “Talking up and sharing your wounds so that they are able to heal. Let’s remove stigmatization, miscarriage occurs, they’re nothing to be ashamed of.”
Mitchell opened up to ET on maternity 201
5 and expresses its gratitude to be able to go to celebrities like Jessica Biel and Haylie and Hilary Duff for advice and support.
“It’s amazing that I have the opportunity to review this experience with my friends and that our children will be able to grow up together and that we as mothers can just sit back and talk and chat and go through” oh, Today was a hard day “or today’s high or low day,” she said. “I’m very grateful.”
