Avengers: Endgame has no postcredited scene, but there is a small sound stinger

Avengers: Endgame is finally here and running a tight three hours and a minute. If your blow is microscopic (like mine) you will probably need to beeline for the bathroom as soon as the credits start rolling. So do you need to hold on to the credits for a final credit? No. You are free and ready to run, because there is no middle or postcredited scene. Despite the MCU tradition of postcredit scenes Endgame is a true finale. Postcredit scenes either configure the next MCU movie, link the movies together or even add a bit of humor to the world. But Endgame does not give away anything for phase 4 yet. But there is also a teaser?

Unlike other MCU movies, there is not a traditional endgame for Endgame, but there is a lesser sort of-maybe-“we are still discussing” audio stinger. After the encryption credits are completed, the Marvel logo is displayed and a sound teaser is played. That sounds a bit like clanking? Really, it just seems like a way to show fans, Marvel Cinematic Universe will return.

It can be metal on metal, some lubrication, someone just pushes something, or maybe just an accident we all hear now. (I thought it sounded like a clock, but I also had to pee.)

Reddit user OxideCyanide makes a case because it’s the sound of Iron Man who builds his suit in the first movie.

None of our viewing party could find out exactly what the audio transmitter was, but some of us have some off-the-wall guesses (we floated that it could be a Secret Wars teaser or an obscure X-Men). We are inclined to join Reddit on this and it makes the most sense in the film’s context.

I recommend that you live for the first part of the credits, which serves as a beautiful tribute to all (many) Avengers, but especially the original sex, so much of the marketing has done. So even if you do not stop for the audio stalls, wait at least until the rolling credits go.
