As expected, the first trailer for Avengers leaves: Endgame us with many more questions than answers – like “who’s going to save Tony Stark from a depressing death in space?” and “How did Ant-Man go from Quantum Realm” given that Hope, Hank and Janet were all broken at the end of Ant-Man and Wasp?
Perhaps even more important if you are a fan of a certain snarky tech genius from Wakanda, the long-term mystery of Shuri survived the snap (or “Decimation” as it is apparently called within MCU).
We felt quite certain that Shuri lived in view of it ̵
1; unlike her brother, T & # 39; Challa – we did not see her dissolution along with many other residents in Wakanda at the end of Infinity War. In addition, Angela Bassett appeared to confirm that her character, Queen Ramonda, and Letitia Wright Shuri both survived Thanos attack in an interview (and no one argues with the Queen). But Joe Russo has refused to comment on whether Shuri lives in Avengers 4 and notes that it would “spoil things” to reveal what happened to her.
It’s not a definite yes or no (which makes us think it’s a yes given that the Russians have not been shy about revealing Thano’s accident events), but the directors clearly want to keep us guess a bit longer and judge by the one glimpse of Shuri we get in Avengers: Endgame trailer …
While Avengers saw a number of their allied decay before them at the end of Infinity War (RIP, Bucky) shot by Bruce Banner from the trailer has three characters whose status is only classified as “missing” – Shuri, Scott Lang and Peter Parker.
This is quite typical Marvel trolling because we saw Peter die in Tony’s arms and confirms that – Unknown to Avengers left on earth, at least – he is definitely dead while the trailer seems to confirm that Scott still lives despite his trip to Quantum Realm, because he has just hit Cap’s door at the last moment. That means it’s as likely that Shuri can be alive or dead. (Perfectly balanced, like all things should be?)
If Shuri is really dead, it means Vision is still dead (is deactivated) and will stay so. As you remember from Infinity War, Bruce Banner could not find a way to save Vision, but Shuri found the problem a movie to solve. When Corvus Glaive attacked his lab, it appeared that Shuri could quickly save Vision’s data before he hit. If we assume that Shuri fetched a sufficient amount of Vision’s minds to successfully recreate him, it means there is potential for Vision to revive / rebuild.
With Shuri out of the image, nobody can convert that data to Vision 2.0. Yes, both Vision’s “parents” Bruce Banner and Tony Stark are still alive, but Infinity War showed that Shuri’s plan was beyond Bruce’s scientific ability, and Tony, yes, he drives around in space to meet his manufacturer so none of them is much help.
Still, the money has lived – she obviously survived the attack of the black order on her lab despite being thrown through a window and while it might have been sensible for her to want to rendezvous with the surviving Avengers after the Decimation, she might simply hid to ride out the rest of Thanos attack? After all, she may not be so kind to the gang that led a lot of super-driven alien monsters to Wakanda’s doors.
Anyway, with T & # 39; Challa from commission and Tony (at least temporarily) stranded in space, Shuri can be crucial in both rallying Wakanda and helping Bruce come up with the technology that can regret Thanos snap, in order to not telling her her confidence in fixing Vision, so it seems unlikely that the Russians would take her from the board together with Black Panther.
