Atlanta United will be the title of the host, December 8th (8:00 ET | FOX, UniMás, TSN, TVAS) at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium. It will be the first time the MLS Cup will host Atlanta, as Five Stripes will make the MLS Cup for the first time in its two-year history.
Atlanta defeated New York Red Bulls 3-1 on aggregate at Eastern Conference Championship after a 1-0 RBNY win at Red Bull Arena on Thursday. They will host winners of the Western Conference Championship, either Sporting Kansas City or Portland Timbers.

8 MLS Cup Playoffs so far. Over all the competitions they have collected a 25-6-8 record in their history.
Between 1996 and 2011, the MLS Cup final was hosted in a predetermined place, although the home team was playing three times. Since 2012, the finals have been hosted at the venue for the team that collected the most points during the regular season among the finalists. Among the nine previous times where the MLS Cup has hosted one of the participants’ home, the home team has won six times. Since 2012, the win has won twice, in 2015 when Portland won at MAPFRE Stadium over Columbus Crew SC and 2016 when Seattle Sounders won at BMO Field over Toronto FC.
