Ashes by Stephen Hillenburg, the creator of the popular cartoon series “Spongebob Squarepants”, was reported to spread on Sundays after his death.
Hillenburg, 57, passed away on November 26 after a battle with ALS, according to Nickelodeon. He was diagnosed with the debilitating condition of ALS, or amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, in March 2017.
The creator of “Bikini Bottom” was cremated and had its ashes scattered in the ocean, TMZ reported on Thursday.

Hillenburg was previously a marine biologist who created the beloved animated series based on his love for the ocean. He thought, wrote, produced and directed “Spongebob”, which began in 1
999 and continued to save hundreds of episodes, movies and a Broadway show.
Hillenburg is survived by his 20-year-old wife Karen, son Clay, mom, and a brother, Brian Kelly Hillenburg.
