Apple may have announced a whole host of new hardware in September, but the Cupertino company is not yet ready. Apple has a second event on Tuesday, October 30, where it is expected to announce new iPad Pros, an updated MacBook Air, and more.
Here are all we expect to see:
The main star of the Tuesday event is expected to be a couple of new iPad professionals, completely reworked with a new design. It’s iPad that corresponds to the jump Apple made with iPhone X last year.
The new iPad professionals are said to have new screen monitors similar to Apple’s newest iPhones, removing the home button / Touch ID sensor for swapping gestures for navigation and Face ID scanner. In addition, Apple is said to switch from its own Lighting port to USB-C, a feature that would allow the new iPad professionals to share chargers and accessories with Apple’s laptop computer (and leave iPhone as the only portable Apple device stuck on Lightning ).
Together with the major hardware changes, Apple is expected to improve the internal hardware of the new iPad professionals, upgrading the processor to a new version of Apple’s recently released A1
2 Bionic chipset. And in what would be the first for the company, it adds a custom Apple graphics card. “style =” object position: 50% 50% “data-upload-width =” 1020 “src =” https://cdn.vox-cdn.com/thumbor/4Fqq1jzsBJxvnhA-mRTan9hyLko=/0x0:1020×676/1200×0/ Filters: Focal (0x0: 1020×676): no_upscale () / cdn.vox-cdn.com/uploads/chorus_asset/file/4167530/mbareview-3.0.jpg “/>
Apple has not functionally updated MacBook Air since 2015, allowing the fans of the ultra-portable laptop to lean into aging since Apple has noted the newer 12-inch MacBook and updated MacBook Pro notebook computers. But it will change on Tuesday with the expected announcement of a new MacBook Air.
The new Air inheritance is said to hold the same 13-inch screen size as the current air, but with a much higher resolution and slimmer elements, along with a much needed specs bump. (The current air offers a comic obsolete Intel processor from 2015.)
But even MacBook Air has not lasted so long without an update like Mac mini, which last saw a new model on October 16 2014 (Apple’s event will mark 1 475 days since the latest revision.) But Apple is finally expected to give a new model to the Mac mini fans, with updated specifications and additional features for professional users (the fingers crossed for USB-C.)
While focus is expected on MacBook Air and Mac mini, Apple may update some of its other Macs. Intel has new desktops that would be critical to Apple’s iMac and iMac Pro models, and the 13-inch MacBook Pro Escape Key and 12-inch MacBook did not get any special improvements earlier this year when Apple updated their other laptops so we can also see some news there too.
As always, it’s an Apple event, which means there’s room for some unexpected surprises. Can we get an update on the still missing AirPower charging plate? Updates to AirPods or even the Russian Wireless Earphones over the ear? The long-term Mac Pro that Apple is under development? A new iPad mini? The resurrection of the iPod? We’ll find out on Tuesday.
