Amazon Alexa has always had a feature where it can tell jokes by saying "Alexa, tell a joke." But now…
Amazon Alexa has always had a feature where it can tell jokes by saying “Alexa, tell a joke.” But now Amazon has collaborated with Jimmy Fallon to tell jokes on Alexa’s behalf. So next month, when you ask Alexa to tell a joke, she’s actually going to leave it to Jimmy Fallon by saying something like “Actually, my friend Jimmy Fallon wants to tell a joke, let’s give him a shot.” And then Fallon will tell you a joke. It was announced on Tonight Show last night, and everyone in the audience also got the new Echo Dot. Fallon noted that there were thousands of jokes recorded for Alexa, and everyone is child-friendly. One of the examples played last night (as you can see in the clip below) was “What did the horse say to the horror? Hay”. As you can see, these are child-friendly, and it would be good for your children to ask Alexa for a joke or two.
This marks the first time that Amazon Alexa uses a different voice than Alexa on their devices. Now, Fallon does not replace Alexa for all, as you can do with Google Home, it’s just for jokes and just for the next month. Fallon and Amazon created jokes exclusively for this time-limited experience. Of course you can still watch clips from The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon on the Echo Show and even hear their monologue if you add it to “Flash Briefing” in your Alexa app. You can see Fallon announce this partnership at The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon in the YouTube clip below.
: Alexa has been able to tell jokes for Echo and other Alexa devices for quite some time, although jokes can be a bit corny, but they make you laugh from time to time. Of course, there are plenty of Alexa skills out there that you can download and use to get more joke ̵
1; and even some adult joke. Asking Alexa to tell a joke is one of the things your children can do and they are likely to spend the whole day asking Alexa to tell them a joke. It’s a great way to keep them busy.
Amazon Alexa has been around for over four years now, and in fact, she only celebrated her fourth birthday. At the time, Alexa has really improved and added lots of features. But not only that, Alexa has become a must-have product for many people. Many have an echo in their living room, kitchen, bathroom and almost every other room in their home. This is because Alexa can do all sorts of things for you. From answering your questions, checking the smart home products in your home and almost everything in between. It can also keep you updated on the news with a flash briefing, as you can actually control which news sources are in your flash briefing and the order they are recorded. So if you do not like a specific news source like Fox News or CNN, you do not need to use it. But you can also add local news sources, from your local stations, which is also quite nice. With the Echo Show, you can actually get a video that shows the news, which is a good thing to see in the morning while drinking your coffee and something. Of course, there are many more features for Alexa, and more that comes every day, thanks to the skills that developers build. Right now there are tens of thousands of skills available to Alexa, who do things like ordering your pizza, checking out and ordering an uber for you and so much more.
Impact : This partnership may not have a major impact on Amazon’s Alexa business model, it’s unlikely that many people will buy an echo just to hear Fallon’s joke (especially since this is only a limited time thing), but it’s likely that it could force a number of people to move on and ask Alexa for some new joke. So there may be an uptick in questions on Alexa, and people who use Alexa more. It’s the real thing that Amazon wants to happen here, with more people using Alexa, which is the big growth area for Amazon right now – Alexa. But for the most part, it’s just a “fun” thing that Amazon did with Fallon and the parent company of Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, NBC Universal, which helps market the device. Many people may not know that the echo can actually tell jokes, and it’s because it’s not one of the features that Amazon really runs in terms of echo. Most things explain the fact that it can control all your smart home products – as it may, and it’s doing great – but there are lots of other great features that are included in Echo and Alexa.
If you have an echo home somewhere, you do not need to do anything to hear a joke from Jimmy Fallon. Simply say, “Alexa, tell me a joke” and she’ll send it to Fallon to tell a joke. There is no need to install any skills at your echo at all, it only works. It is currently available to anyone with an Echo device as well. It’s unclear whether it’s available on non-Echo Alexa devices, like Sonos One (although we tried our Sonos One and could not get Fallon’s voice), but it should be done soon. If you do not own an echo right now, Amazon will have a number of models for sale for Black Friday next week so you will want to pick one up especially since Echo Dot is already super cheap and it will be even cheaper for Black Friday .
