Amazon is expanding its smart home products today. The company announced that it is acquiring the internet router Eero for an unproven amount. The merger will see Eero continue to run its brand independently and expand globally.
Amazon says the company’s acquisition of Eero will help its customers “better connect” smart home devices. Eero is one of the leading online route companies, which paves the way for a lot of other similar products – even from large companies like Google and Netgear. The company’s WiFi system helps users get a fast and reliable WiFi connection in every part of their home with the network WiFi system, which works mainly as a blanket.
“We are incredibly impressed by the scary team and how quickly they invented a WiFi solution that allows connected devices to work,” said Dave Limp, SVP for Amazon Devices and Services. “We have a common vision that the smart home experience can be even easier, and we are determined to continue to innovate on behalf of the customer.”
Amazon’s acquisition of Eero will only make the company even stronger in the smart home business. It not only makes Echo products and Alexa, but now it also owns WiFi systems that are the backbone of smart homes. Amazon also owns companies like Ring, so it tries to get to almost every part of your home. And as scary as that, Amazon has exclusively made its smart home, and there is no doubt that it will continue to dominate the smart home market ahead.
