“However, the Delhi government refused to reduce VAT on both gasoline and diesel fuel, which resulted in fuel becoming more expensive than bordering on Haryana and Uttar Pradesh.”
In comparison with Delhi, fuel prices in neighboring countries such as Uttar Pradesh and Haryana are cheaper, he said.

Due to the high price in Delhi and low prices in states such as UP and Haryana, customers lose their petrol pumps in Delhi, leading to a significant sales decline, says Singhania.

Due to the difference in prices, there has been a sharp decline of 50-60 percent in diesel sales in Delhi and 25 percent in gasoline in the quarter, the DPDA president said adding that Monday’s 400 pumps do not buy or sell gasoline, diesel and CNG.

He said the festival season is the peak season for the sale of fuel due to social travel by residents. “DPDA urges the Delhi government to immediately reduce VAT on gasoline and diesel and encourage commuters to buy Euro VI fuel and save the supply of employees and owners of gas pumps in Delhi and also save the government’s revenue loss,” said the statement. !
