Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez supports Nancy Pelosi for speakers if she is “the most progressive candidate”

Ocasio-Cortez, a self-proclaimed democratic socialist, has shown that she was open to supporting Pelosi, but her series of tweets Wednesday was her strongest and clearest public statements so far that supports the Calfornia Democrats would return to drive the speaker’s gable.

“I think there’s really an opening,” told Ocasio-Cortez for the publication. “It’s not about supporting or not supporting an individual. It’s about ensuring that we get as progressive and aggressive legislation as a party to climate change as quickly as possible.”

Ocasio-Cortez added Wednesday that the party can turn its focus on its “priorities”.

“I hope we can move quickly to end this discussion about party positions, so we can spend more time discussing party priorities: voting rights, health care, wages, climate change, housing, cannabis licensing, good jobs, etc.” [1

9659004] Pelosi needs the majority to be elected speaker in the chamber when the new congress convenes. So far, there are 232 Democrats with a total of 435 seats. Pelosi can only lose only a small number of Democrats, provided that all 200 current Republicans join forces around their own candidate and against her.
