Oakland Raiders may have difficulty scoring for the rest of this season. Oakland traded talented but inconsistent broad recipient Amari Cooper to Dallas Cowboys on Monday afternoon, leaving the team with a receiving corps led by veteran Jordy Nelson, inconsistent Martavis Bryant and slot man Seth Roberts.
Later in the day, Raiders announced that they put back Marshawn Lynch on injured reserves.
It was reported this weekend that Lynch has a thigh injury that will keep him out for at least a month . Our Sean Wagner-McGough summarized the news nicely at the time:
It’s sad, but fitting that Raiders lost Lynch of all players to an injury. After trying to move to Las Vegas, Khalil Mack, starting 1
-5, is clear that – the idea or not – Raiders will probably not give Oakland the kind of season that the city deserves before the Raiders leave it. Lynch is an Oakland icon and he was the only fun part of the Raiders season. At least, Oakland fans deserved to see Lynch go to all Beast Mode over opposing defense before their beloved Raiders leave them behind a new city. Now they will not even get the comfort prize.
