Earache or ear pain is a common problem in small children. It makes you uncomfortable. Mostly, it occurs due to an ear infection and fluid buildup in your middle ear.

1. Garlic :

Garlic is one of the best antioxidant and anti-inflammatory agent. It improves the immune system of your body so that your body fight better against infection.

Method 1 :
  • Take two tablespoons of sesame oil.
  • Add one teaspoon of minced garlic in it.
  • Heat it in the low flame for few minutes.
  • Cool and filter the oil.
  • Put 2-3 drops of this oil in your ear.
Method 2 :
  • Take few cloves of garlic.
  • Extract the juice out of it.
  • Put it into your ear.

2. Hot compress :

Putting heat around the infected ear can work as a pain reliever. You can heat from the heat pack or an electric heating pad.

Method 1 :
  • Apply hot pad to your earache area.
  • Leave it for 20 minutes.
  • For better result, you should touch your neck and throat with the hot pad.
Method 2 :
  • Take a hot water bottle.
  • Wrap it in a towel.
  • Press it against the aching ear.
  • Leave it few minutes.

3. Cold compress :

A cold compress helps to reduce the pain of an ear-ache. It is safe for both children and adults.

Method 1 :
  • Wrap the ice in paper towels.
  • Hold it to your ear.
  • Move it around your ear area in circular motion.
  • Do it for 15 minutes.

Note: Never apply ice directly to their children’s skin.

4. Massage :

Massage is a type of technique, in which different types of massage are given that usually depends on your needs as well as your physical condition. It is a manual manipulation of soft body tissue like muscle, connective tissues, tendons e.t.c. to enhance a person health. It can help to reduce an ear-ache.

Method 1 :
  • Take few drops of massage oil on your fingertips.
  • Apply it to your earache area in downward motion.
  • Take pressure beginning just behind the ears and down the neck.
  • Now, apply pressure downward, work forward to the front of the ears.

5. Onion :

Onion is full of antiseptic and antibacterial properties. It is a famous home remedy for an ear-ache.

Method 1 :
  • Take 1 teaspoon of onion juice.
  • Heat it over low heat.
  • Put 2 drops of this juice on your affected ear.
  • Do it 2 to 3 times daily.
Method 2 :
  • Crush a fresh onion.
  • Wrap it tightly in a clean cloth.
  • Put it over the infected ear.
  • Leave it for about 5 to 10 minutes.
  • Repeat the process 2 – 3 times a day.

6. Holy Basil :

Holy Basil is commonly named as Tulasi or queen of herbs. Its scientific name is Ocimum Tenuiflorum. It is a redolent and aromatic plant, from Lamiaceae family. It contains vitamin C, vitamin A, vitamin K and other antioxidants and is an effective remedy for ear pain.

Method 1 :
  • Crush a few basil leaves.
  • Extract the juice from it.
  • Put some drops of this juice in the aching ear.
  • Do it once or twice a day.

7. Turmeric :

Turmeric is an ayurvedic herb. Its biological name is Curcumin . It has wide uses in our daily life. It is mostly used as a food substance. In Ayurveda, it is used in medicine.

Method 1 :
  • Take a pinch of turmeric powder.
  • Add some drops of rose water in it.
  • Mix it well.
  • Apply this paste on pain affected area.

  • Use some turmeric in your cooking
